Women of the Word (WOW) is our ministry for women ages 18 and up. As a member of the Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU), our main focus is to:

- Pray and support missions
- Organize and lead missions
- Develop spiritually toward a mission lifestyle
- Participate in the work of the church

WOW meets on the first Monday each month in members’ homes.

About Women's Missionary Union (WMU)

From the beginning, WMU’s main purpose has been to educate and involve women, girls, and preschoolers in the cause of Christian missions. Throughout its history, WMU has been an auxiliary to the Southern Baptist Convention, which means that it acts as a "helper" to the SBC. The auxiliary status also means that WMU is self-governing and self-supporting.

Barbara Petty is the WMU Director at Providence Baptist. Her responsibility is to promote all mission projects and all mission activities through out the year for Providence Baptist Church Rico. For more information about WMU, contact Barbara Petty at wmu@pbcrico.org
