Sundays at Providence Baptist are special days for our church staff, congregation and visitors. We invite you to share our experience through the following snapshots, and then join us at our next service.

Early in the Day & Breakfast Fellowship (9 a.m.)

Pastor "Doc" Tyre and wife Margaret arrive early in the morning to prepare for the service. Doc reviews his sermon for the service and Margaret prepares for her Sunday school class before greeting church members at fellowship breakfast. Doc and Margaret are also available during this time for counseling or visiting shut-ins.   

Kenny and Elaine Bryant also arrive early to put on the coffee and prepare the wonderful fellowship breakfast for the church family. Breakfast is offered each Sunday from 9-10 a.m.

Sunday School Classes (10 a.m.)

Bell chimes just before 10 a.m. signal the start of Sunday school. Providence Baptist offers classes for youth, children, young adults, adults, and seniors.

Children Worship Services (11 a.m.)

After Sunday school, children join their families for the first 15 minutes of the morning worship service.

During this time they listen to the opening prayer, greet the congregation during the welcome, and then enjoy a special "Sermon in the Box"-- an impromptu sermon given by Pastor Doc based on items a child places in the box.

After the Sermon in the Box, children are dismissed to attend either Children's Church, where they are lead through a special service and lesson, or the Nursery, where preschoolers can enjoy activities and games.

Adult Morning Worship Service

After the children leave for Children's Church and the Nursery, the adult service continues with a prayer and scripture reading, followed by musical selections by the choir or a soloist.

Providence Baptist Choir sings a combination of traditional hymns and contemporary music.

After the offertory hymn, Pastor Doc delivers the sermon, which sometimes focuses on a month-long topic, and often time weaves personal experiences to illustrate the message.

The service is closed with an invitation hymn and an invitation to accept the Lord.

Adult Evening Worship Service (6 p.m.)

Adult evening worship services are offered most Sunday evenings at 6 p.m.
