Music Ministry at Providence
The Music Ministry at Providence includes a blend of traditional, contemporary, instrumental, and gospel music. We believe that music is a wonderful way to lift our voices in praise to the Lord. Join us as we praise God together and thank Him for the blessings He has given each of us!
There are opportunities for all ages in our music program! We have a Preschool/Kind. Children's Choir, Kids' Choir for Grades 1-6, Hills of Grace Praise Band for Youth, Sanctuary Choir, soloists, duets, quartets, and instrumental groups. Concerts are also offered to our community throughout the year and special occasions.
Our Sanctuary Choir meets for regular rehearsal on Sunday from 9:30-10:00 a.m. Special rehearsals are on Sundays, Wednesdays and other scheduled times. Kids' Choirs meet during the school year on Weds. nights. Hills of Grace meets on Weds. nights after the youth group. Come and be a part of our Music Ministry!

Veteran's Recognition Service - Sunday, Nov. 11 - 11 a.m. in F. Center
We honored our veterans during the service. Stephen Quesinberry was our guest speaker. The music included patriotic music by our choir and congregation, bagpipes by Ken Reed, trumpet played by Garrett Collins, Solo by Fred Carter, and the extraordinary military display in the F. Center by Pat & Kay Long.

SANCTUARY CHOIR - PROGRESSIVE DINNER SOCIAL - Friday, November 2
Our Sanctuary Choir had a fabulous time of fellowship at our Progressive Dinner! We met at the church at 5:45 p.m. and rode the bus to the Nestlehutts, Thompsons and Arnolds. The choir works diligently and serves the Lord through the ministry of music. Thanks to our choir and spouses for a wonderful job on the food. Thanks to Lynn for driving the bus for us. The night was filled with laughter, fellowship and delicious food!

5th Sunday Night Music Service - September 30
We had a wonderful Music Service on Sunday, September 30, at 6 p.m. The following folks shared their message through music so beautifully. Our Sanctuary Choir opened the service enthusiastically with "Heaven Medley." The members of Hills of Grace (Bill, Emily, Sara Beth, Jonathan) sang a song they wrote together entitled, "Hills of Grace." Solos were shared by Andy Gosnell, Fred Carter, Linda Rigney, Nesha Bryant and Michael Hale. The Reed family sang, "In the Garden." Songs were accompanied on piano by Barbara Redic and Nancy, guitars by Bill and Jonathan, and CD. We were all blessed by those who shared their love for Jesus through their music.
Thanks to the following people who sang or played instruments for the special music night in July: Max & Margaret, Jerry & Brenda, Bill & Nesha, Andy, Michael, Fred, Lauren, Rev. Oliver, Claudette & Laverne, Kinser family, Renee Sands & grandson, Giovanni. The ice cream social after the service was truly a fantastic time of fellowship!

Special thanks to Valerie Whittenburger for sharing her testimony in song on Wednesday evening, September 5, at 6:45 p.m. God truly spoke to us through the medley of How Great is Our God & How Great Thou Art. Please pray for Val as she returns to Coventry, England for an internship at Elim Church with Kids and Youth Ministry, along with Music Ministry.
Homecoming & Revival - August, 2018
Sunday, August 12 - Homecoming Service & lunch - 11 a.m. Choir Rehearsal from 9:30-10 a.m. Evenings, August 12-15 - Our Revival Choir sang so well during all the Revival services. Jon McDonald, guest soloist on Sunday & Monday, brought great joy and blessings to our congregation! Providence musicians provided beautiful special music during the Revival services. Bonnie Goode played the piano for the Revival services. Special music was provided by Michael Hale, Emma Gwin, Andy Gosnell, Bill and Nesha Bryant. Nancy led the music and accompanied singers on piano. Dr. Jim Ellison, guest preacher, inspired and challenged each of us with his messages.

Special thanks to our choir members for their hard work and commitment to excellence. Our Choir meets on Sunday morning from 9:30-10:00 a.m. and other scheduled times. We had a fabulous 5th Sunday night service in July and another one will be on September 30! Homecoming and Revival services were powerful. Special thanks to our Revival Choir and all the musicians who shared their music. Special thanks to Jon McDonald, guest soloist, for his moving music.
Patriotic Celebration Service - Sunday, July 1st - 11 a.m.
Special thanks to everyone who participated in the patriotic celebration service. The congregation and choir sang songs to honor God and our country. Emily & Jonathan Reed honored our country with posting of the colors. The choir followed with an exciting version of "You're a Grand Old Flag" and a powerful medley titled "Let Freedom Ring." Doc preached on "The Sound of Freedom" and it really spoke to each of us. The congregation participated in the singing of God Bless America, The Star-Spangled Banner, America, the Beautiful and the Battle Hymn.
Vacation Bible School - Game On! June 11- 15: 5-8 p.m.
Special thanks to our Music Team: Jacy, Sara Beth & Garrett! We had a blast working with the children. The kids participated so well each night in the worship rally and the music rotation classes. The teachers and youth helpers worked so hard this week to do their best with the children. Attendance totals ranged from 92-103. Seven decisions were made for Christ. To God be the Glory!
Sunday, June 3 - Youth Service - "Lifeline"
Hills of Grace, led by Bill Bryant, presented five selections in the Evening Service in the Sanctuary on Sunday, June 3, at 6 p.m. Youth members included vocalists, Emily Reed & Sara Beth Thacker; Guitarists, Joel Preston & Jonathan Reed. Everyone was so blessed by the music and testimonies! Youth and adults shared their testimonies, including Lauren Collins, Charis Bettis, Ashley Bussell, Reba Driver, Tommy Thompson, Waylon McElwaney and Emily Reed. The theme for the service was "Lifeline." Nancy thanked Bill & Nesha, and the members of Hills of Grace for their music! Bill closed in prayer. A fellowship followed the service in the Fellowship Center.
Sunday, May 27 - Memorial Day Service - 11 a.m.
Special thanks to our Sanctuary Choir for the powerful call to worship, Land of the Free Medley. We also thank Michael Hale for his solo, I'll Take Jesus and Ken Reed for his bagpipe selections, Amazing Grace & Going Home. The music by our instrumentalists, along with the congregational singing, inspired everyone present at the service. Doc's message reminded each one of us to remember those who sacrificed so much for us.
Sunday, April 22 - Children's Day - 11 a.m.
Special thanks to the children and workers for a wonderful Children's Day at Providence! The children's choirs provided the music in the service. The songs included "This Little Light of Mine" and "Jesus Loves Me." Katy and Shelbilynn sang together and led the congregation in "This is the Day!" Chloe sang "God, Our Father" for the Offertory Prayer Song. Landon read the scripture and Beau prayed. Several of the children took up the offering during the service. Thanks to Bridgette and the teachers for their help and planning!
Easter Sunday - Sunday, April 1
Singers from Providence and Rico United Methodist arrived at 7:50 a.m. - Our Early Service began at 8 a.m. with the singing of "He Lives" by our Community Choir. After the congregational singing, Dr. Jim Howell brought a powerful message. A delicious breakfast was prepared by men at PBC. A large crowd of folks ate breakfast between 9-10 a.m. - The Sanctuary Choir warmed up at 9:45 a.m. Sunday School followed at 10 a.m. The Easter Celebration Service & Children's Church was held in the Sanctuary at 11 a.m. The Sanctuary Choir sang during the call to worship and special music. Bill & Nesha Bryant sang & played "Mercy Tree." Doc proclaimed God's Word in his sermon. It was a glorious day at Providence. He is risen!
REDEEMED by the Blood of the Lamb - Palm Sunday, March 25
Special thanks to the Sanctuary Choir for the two musical presentations of REDEEMED By the Blood of the Lamb on Palm Sunday, March 25. The morning music service included the Lord's Supper and the annual Palm Sunday Children's Processional. The evening presentation provided an opportunity for people from other churches to join us. Praise God for two wonderful music presentations that told the good news of God's redeeming love!
Music for Preschool/Kindergarten children, and students in Grades 1-6
During the school year, Choirs are offered for our children on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 p.m. & scheduled Sundays during Sunday School. Kids have a summer program during the summer months, including Vacation Bible School in June and Weds. activities. Ms. Nancy also meets with individual students at scheduled times.

Linda brought so much joy to our choir and church family. She was a dear friend who loved everyone she met. Our choir had a special engraved plate placed on the new music stand on the pulpit stage area in memory of Linda.
