Music Ministry at Providence
The Music Ministry at Providence includes a blend of traditional, contemporary, gospel and instrumental music. We believe that music is a wonderful way to lift our voices in praise to the Lord. Join us as we praise God together and thank Him for the blessings He has given each of us!
There are opportunities for all ages in our music program! We have a Preschool/Kindergarten Choir, Kids' Choir for Grades 1-6, Sanctuary Choir, along with soloists, duets, quartets, and instrumental groups. Concerts are offered to our community throughout the year and on special occasions. We invite you to come and be a part of our Music Ministry!

VBS Kick-off - Sunday, June 9 - 10 a.m. until noon. Ages 4 years through 6th grade.
Monday-Thursday: 5:00-8:00 p.m. & Friday Family Night: 5:00-7:00 p.m.

I am so grateful to everyone for the prayers, meals, calls, texts, cards and other expressions of love during my unexpected illness and recovery. Thanks to Michael, Carol and the music committee for their leadership during my absence. Thanks to our choir, soloists and instrumentalists for their special music and faithfulness. Thanks to Nesha for helping me with the bulletin. Thanks to our ministry staff for their help. God is so faithful! I am back at church and appreciate your encouragement and prayers!

Kids' Music - Sunday, April 28 - Awesome job!!!
Wow! Special thanks to two Members of our Kids' Choir for their awesome music in the 11 a.m. service on Sunday morning, April 28. Zoey Lyle and Katy Payne presented three selections from the musical, In the Big Inning! Garrett Collins was Coach Chris in the opening scene and first song. He was awesome, too! I had a blast working with all three of them. The selections were In the Big Inning, He Will Always Make a Way and Jesus At the Cross.
Way to Go! Also, thanks to Marie Lyle for her help with the kids and to Garrett, Eddie and Steve for their work with the sound and screen.

Palm Sunday Service, April 14 - 11:00 a.m.
We had a wonderful time of worship on Sunday! We were able to have the morning service despite the storms. Special thanks to everyone who participated in the service. God truly blessed us through the music by the Sanctuary Choir. Thanks to each choir member, instrumentalists and the AV Team for a powerful presentation. The service was both meaningful and beautiful.

March Music & Fellowship - Sunday, March 24 - 5 p.m.
We had a wonderful night of music and fellowship! Special thanks to each one of the singers and instrumentalists for sharing their music and talents with all of those who attended the service. Everyone was truly blessed by the music. The following people were part of the program: Bonnie Goode, Max Arnold, Brenda & Jerry Creel, Fred Carter, Alec Schmidt, Linda Rigney, Michael Hale, Andy Gosnell, Bill Bryant, Nancy Whittenburger. The fellowship that followed the service was enjoyable for all. The Sanctuary Choir had a special Easter music rehearsal at 3:45 p.m. before the music service.
February 17 - Special thanks to Jacy McElreath and Alec Schmidt for their beautiful music on Sunday morning, Feb. 17! We appreciated the singing by Jacy and violin accompaniment by Alec. I was blessed to play the piano on their musical selection. God was glorified and all present were truly blessed! Jacy and Alec will share this selection again at our music service on Sunday, March 24 at 5 p.m. Don't miss the evening of music!
Sunday, February 10 - Jon McDonald, Guest Vocalist - 11 a.m.
We were thrilled that Jon McDonald sang during our morning worship service on Sunday, Feb. 10.
Jon blessed and inspired all of us with his sections: You Raise Me Up, Let Them See You, & Down From His Glory. Jon also provided the entertainment at the Keenagers' banquet on Saturday, Feb. 9. We had a lot of fun at the banquet! We enjoyed his fabulous singing, acting and personality!
Easter Music Kick-off - Sanctuary Choir - Sunday, January 27
The Sanctuary Choir had the Easter music kick-off on Sunday, January 27, from 4-5 p.m. Our Sanctuary Choir is rehearsing for the Easter musical that will be presented on Palm Sunday, April 14, at the 11 a.m. service. The musical is Victor's Crown by Dennis & Nan Allen. The children will present the Palm Sunday Processional during the Call to Worship. We will also observe the Lord's Supper as part of the Palm Sunday service.

Children's Choirs - Wednesday evenings
6:30 p.m. Kids' Choir for Grades 1-6 meet at 6:30. Special rehearsals are usually at 5:30 p.m. on Weds.
7:00 p.m. Preschool & Kindergarten Choir meets during the Mission Friends Class.

The Preschool-Kindergarten Choir sang on Sunday morning, December 23, during the Call to Worship.
Carter, Colten, Gunner, Sissy and Sug did a wonderful job singing "Happy Birthday to Jesus!" They also sang "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."

11 a.m. Morning Service - Kids' Choir presented "A Country Christmas" during the 1st half of service.

6 p.m. A church-wide Christmas fellowship followed the service,
Veteran's Recognition Service - Sunday, Nov. 11 - 11 a.m. in F. Center
We honored our veterans during the service. Stephen Quesinberry was our guest speaker. The music included patriotic music by our choir and congregation, bagpipes by Ken Reed, trumpet played by Garrett Collins, Solo by Fred Carter, and the extraordinary military display in the F. Center by Pat & Kay Long.
SANCTUARY CHOIR PROGRESSIVE DINNER - Friday, November 2, 2018
Our Sanctuary Choir had a fabulous time of fellowship at our Progressive Dinner! We met at the church at 5:45 p.m. and rode the bus to the Nestlehutts, Thompsons and Arnolds. The choir works diligently and serves the Lord through the ministry of music. Thanks to our choir and spouses for a wonderful job on the food. Thanks to Lynn for driving the bus for us. The night was filled with laughter, fellowship and delicious food!
5th Sunday Night Music Service - September 30
We had a wonderful Music Service on Sunday, September 30, at 6 p.m. The following folks shared their message through music so beautifully. Our Sanctuary Choir opened the service enthusiastically with "Heaven Medley." The members of Hills of Grace (Bill, Emily, Sara Beth, Jonathan) sang a song they wrote together entitled, "Hills of Grace." Solos were shared by Andy Gosnell, Fred Carter, Linda Rigney, Nesha Bryant and Michael Hale. The Reed family sang, "In the Garden." Songs were accompanied on piano by Barbara Redic and Nancy, guitars by Bill and Jonathan, and CD. We were all blessed by those who shared their love for Jesus through their music.
Thanks to the following people who sang or played instruments for the special music night in July: Max & Margaret, Jerry & Brenda, Bill & Nesha, Andy, Michael, Fred, Lauren, Rev. Oliver, Claudette & Laverne, Kinser family, Renee Sands & grandson, Giovanni. The ice cream social after the service was truly a fantastic time of fellowship!

Special thanks to Valerie Whittenburger for sharing her testimony in song on Wednesday evening, September 5, at 6:45 p.m. God truly spoke to us through the medley of How Great is Our God & How Great Thou Art. Please pray for Val as she returns to Coventry, England for an internship at Elim Church with Kids and Youth Ministry, along with Music Ministry.
Homecoming & Revival - August, 2018
Sunday, August 12 - Homecoming Service & lunch - 11 a.m. Choir Rehearsal from 9:30-10 a.m. Evenings, August 12-15 - Our Revival Choir sang so well during all the Revival services. Jon McDonald, guest soloist on Sunday & Monday, brought great joy and blessings to our congregation! Providence musicians provided beautiful special music during the Revival services. Bonnie Goode played the piano for the Revival services. Special music was provided by Michael Hale, Emma Gwin, Andy Gosnell, Bill and Nesha Bryant. Nancy led the music and accompanied singers on piano. Dr. Jim Ellison, guest preacher, inspired and challenged each of us with his messages.
