Yes, it’s that time of year again. It’s time for our annual Homecoming and Revival. What a great celebration we are going to experience as we give God the glory for all the things He has done for the Providence Family.
Homecoming is a time for our church family to reflect upon the blessings of the past year. The blessings have flowed through this fellowship. Our children’s program continues to provide spiritual growth and development for our children. Our youth program is reaching students from all walks of life, enabling them to grow in Christ. Our adults are discovering their spiritual gifts and using them to build up the body of Christ.
This is a special invitation for you to join us at Providence for our Homecoming Celebration. Homecoming is Sunday, August 12th. We invite you to Sunday School at 10 a.m., Homecoming Service at 11 a.m. and the Covered-Dish Luncheon at 12:15 p.m. We want present members, former members and guests to join us for a great celebration as we reflect upon our heritage, and celebrate God’s present and future plans for this exciting fellowship.
Our Revival is also a time to renew our commitment to Christ, His Church and His Commission to make disciples. The Revival begins Sunday night, August 12, at 6 p.m. The Revival continues on Monday-Wednesday, August 13-15. Dinner will be served on these evenings at 6:00 p.m. The services will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Our preacher will be Dr. Jimmy Ellison, Pastor of Newnan City Church. Pastor Ellison is former Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Atlanta. He is a superb preacher and will be used of God as he proclaims the Gospel. We will be inspired by the music of the week provided by guest musician, Jon McDonald and the musicians of Providence. Please join me in praying for a mighty movement of God in our midst. I look forward to greeting you.
Blessings,
Dr. Gene Tyre (Doc)
