Homecoming & Revival

7/31/2017

Dear Providence Church Family,

My heart is filled with gratitude and love for you as I have observed your faithfulness to Christ and His church during these summer months. As we now look to the days and months ahead, I know God has plans to bless us in ways we have yet to experience. I am writing this letter to inform you of some very important happenings that need our prayers and attention.

The month of August is going to be very busy. A BIG BACK TO SCHOOL BASH WILL BE HELD FOR OUR STUDENTS ON SUNDAY EVENING AUGUST 6TH. ROBBIE LEE, FORMER MINISTER OF STUDENTS AT PROVIDENCE AND HIS BAND WILL BE FEATURED ON THIS GREAT EVENING. ROBBIE AND HIS FAMILY ARE LOVED AT PROVIDENCE AND ARE EXCITING ABOUT “COMING HOME” TO LEAD US IN THIS IMPORTANT HAPPENING. A PIZZA SUPPER WILL BE HELD FOR OUR STUDENTS PRIOR TO THE WORSHIP CELEBRATION. ALSO, ADULTS ARE INVITED TO THE CELEBRATION. THE MUSIC AND MESSAGE WILL FOCUS ON OUR STUDENTS.

August 13th is the time for HOMECOMING 2017. Please spread the word among former members and friends that this is going to be a great day of celebrating our heritage and affirming our hope.  The morning service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday evening will be a time of TESTIMONY AND GOSPEL SINGING at 6:00 p.m.

MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING SPEAKERS WILL FEATURE RELATIVES OF OUR CHURCH FAMILY - 7:00 PM

MONDAY EVENING, AUGUST 14th: PHIL THOMAS, BROTHER OF KEITH THOMAS.

TUESDAY EVENING, AUGUST 15th: STEVE SMITH, SON-IN-LAW OF LYNN AND ROBBI SCARBROUGH.

WEDNESDAY EVENING, AUGUST 16th: OUR OWN TROY BETTIS WILL PREACH A POWERFUL EVANGELISTIC SERMON.

It is going to be a great week of Gospel preaching and singing. Please join me in praying for a mighty moving of God among His people. Please make plans to attend all services and invite friends to join in what will be a time of transforming lives in the name of Christ. Dinner will be provided Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

A new church year is rapidly approaching. God has brought to Providence a wonderful group of gifted persons. He wants each of us to use our giftedness to build up His church and transform lives. For this purpose a sign-up sheet has been placed in the hallway behind the Sanctuary. Please indicate where you believe God is leading you to serve Him at Providence. The days ahead call for us to be on our knees before God yielding ourselves to be used of Him.

Blessings,
Doc
