The Gathering

10/17/2016

We live in an ever-changing world.  Someone has observed that we miss one section of a revolving door and our personal calendar encounters chaos for at least a month.  We should all be aware of the challenge of being the church in times like these.  In these days of cultural wars, worship wars,  and a growing lack of respect for institutional religion, we must ask, "How can we be the church God would have us be in these days of conflict and confusion?"

It is very important that we are alert to opportunities to reach people with the "Good News" of Jesus and His love.  I am blessed to be Pastor of a church whose heartbeat is to pattern ministry after the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus.  At Providence Baptist we affirm that ministry "Is all about the Lord Jesus Christ and not about us."  The people of Providence are always seeking ways to speak to the spiritual needs of people in this ever-changing world.

We are now spending from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. each Sunday evening in a ministry called "THE GATHERING."  The name of our family life center is "THE GATHERING."  Each Sunday evening we GATHER AT THE GATHERING FOR THE PURPOSE OF WORSHIP, BUILDING MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS AND BRINGING OUR FRIENDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENABLING THEM TO EXPERIENCE GOD'S GRACE AS COMMUNICATED BY THOSE WHO ARE RECIPIENTS OF HIS GRACE.  This service includes a diversity of music, a timely message from God's word and a time of GATHERING around tables listening to the stories of one another's life journey.  Come join us for this special GATHERING.  I believe this is going to be used of  God to bring spiritual renewal to the lives of many.  THERE IS A PLACE AT THE TABLE FOR YOU TO GATHER WITH OTHERS.
