PROVIDENCE BAPTIST CHURCH TAKES SERIOUSLY OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO “KEEP HOUSE FOR GOD.” IT HAS BECOME NECESSARY TO RESTORE THE SANCTUARY FLOOR. THERE IS ALSO A NEED TO PURCHASE A GOLF CART TO PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION FOR OUR SENIOR ADULTS AND HANDICAPPED FROM THE EDUCATIONAL BUILDING TO THE GATHERING PLACE, OUR FELLOWSHIP CENTER. THE CHURCH HAS VOTED TO ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE OF RAISING THE MONEY FOR THIS PROJECT. WE ARE “LAYING HOLD ON THE GREATNESS OF GOD” BELIEVING THAT GOD WILL BLESS THIS EFFORT ON BEHALF OF HIS PEOPLE. PROVIDENCE IS COMMITTED TO RAISING $150,000.00 TO MEET THESE NEEDS. WE WILL NOT BORROW MONEY FOR THIS PROJECT.
THEREFORE, FOR THE NEXT SIX MONTHS WE WILL BE FOCUSING ON THIS STEWARDSHIP ENDEAVOR. THIS IS GOING TO BE MUCH MORE THAN A “FUND RAISING PROJECT.” THIS IS GOING TO BE A MINISTRY AFFIRMED IN PHILIPPIANS 4:4-7. WE LOOK FORWARD WITH GREAT EXCITEMENT TO THIS TIME OF SPIRITUAL RENEWAL AND RESTORATION.

This entire endeavor is much more than raising funds to “keep house for God.” As we “take hold on the greatness of God,” we are praying for a mighty wave of God’s spirit to move across Providence, empowering us to be His people on His mission for His glory. Philippians 4:12 will be our theme for November as we lift up our praise to God for what He has done for us. This will be a time of celebrating and expressing gratitude to God for reaching our goal and giving us the blessing of “taking hold of the greatness of God.”
