Through the years I have found great inspiration in the words of the Apostle Paul: "But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?
Many years ago on the campus of Mercer University God confirmed His call upon my life to preach the Good News of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I take great assurance in knowing that it was by God's grace I was made a minister of the Gospel.
Through the years I have prepared sermons with my Bible in hand and the needs of the people I serve on my heart. For me it has been and continues a be a journey that brings a voluminous amount of fulfillment to my life. Each day I thank God for His presence with me and the assurance he provides that I am about my life's mission.
I love preaching to the people of Providence Baptist Church. The Providence people know how to listen. They come to the preaching and teaching of God's word with an eagerness to learn and a willingness to put into practice the Good News of Jesus and His love. What a joy to come before these people each Sunday knowing God is with us connecting us to Him through the working of His Spirit and His Word. Each day I am very much aware of the responsibilities of God's call to bring to the people bread that is fresh from the sermonic oven.
This Summer I am going to preach a series of sermons "STRENGTH FOR TODAY AND BRIGHT HOPE FOR TOMORROW." I am asking the Providence people to share with me their life passage of Scripture. This is a passage that has provided "strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow." These passages will be the texts for my sermon series.
PLEASE SHARE WITH ME YOUR LIFE PASSAGE. PLEASE JOIN ME PRAYING THAT THE LORD WILL USE THIS SERIES TO GIVE US STRENGTH FOR TODAY AND A BRIGHT HOPE FOR TOMORROW.
BLESSINGS,
DOC (GENE TYRE)
