The Journey

5/28/2015

The journey is becoming a reality for many people.  In recent days I have seen Mini Vans with luggage resting on the top taking families on a journey following the last day of school.  Campers have found their way to the highways filled with people on a journey to their place of rest and relaxation.  There is something about "journey" that has always fascinated me.  The Bible is filled with the stories of people on journeys.  Abraham left the city of Ur and following God's instruction set out on a journey that God would use to bless many people.  The Apostle Paul took many journeys for the purpose of planting new churches and interpreting His surrender to the Lordship of Christ.  The life of Jesus was a continual journey announcing the Good News of God's Kingdom.

I would encourage that each of us take a journey that would enrich our life. This summer join Providence Baptist Church as we journey to different experiences.

We will take a journey across our community improving the quality of life of people of our community.  Rather than spending money on missions that will take us beyond our community, we will be ministering to people of our community.  The journey is called Operation Hometown Outreach.  Those who participate in this journey will be blessed.  We will take this exciting journey the week of June 8-12.

Our families will have the opportunity to take a "Journey Off The Map" as we attend Vacation Bible School the week of June 22-26.  This is going to be an exciting journey for the entire family.  This is going to be time of spiritual growth and development as we experience Bible study, fun and fellowship.  This year something new has been added.  Dr. Donald Brett will be teaching an Adult Bible Study. The study will focus on the Book of Daniel. It is going to be an exciting journey.

We are continuing to plan other exciting journeys that will take place during the months of Summer.  Come join us on the journeys.  You will be blessed.

Blessings,
Gene Tyre (Doc)
