Providence
Baptist has teamed with Rico Methodist Church to form an Awana club that serves
children in the Rico community, age 4 through the 6th grade.
Awana is an international children's ministry that
blends Bible teaching, Scripture memorization, and tons of fun. The name "AWANA" comes from II Timothy 2:15 –
Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.
Additionally, kids can be part of various AWANA
activities like the Grand Prix races, where contestants race cars which they’ve
designed; AWANA camp-outs, the AWANA Games, and Bible quiz teams. See the
Awana Web site.
Ministry Information
Cubbies, the
program for preschoolers, features two handbooks written in a fun,
storybook style that combines basic Scripture memory with parent-child
activities.
Sparks, the program for kindergarten through second grade, takes
youngsters a step deeper into God's Word while giving unsaved boys and
girls regular opportunities to hear the gospel and come to faith in
Jesus Christ.
Truth & Training, the program for third- through sixth-grade boys
and girls, teaches the truth of God's Word and trains children to follow
Christ in their daily lives.
