motorcycle mission: christian motorcycle association support our missions

Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA) began in early 1970s when evangelist Herb Shreve from Hatfield, Arkansas realized that many in the biking community were lost without Jesus Christ, and were not being ministered to by mainstream churches. He founded CMA to reach bikers with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and since then the organization has grown into a world-wide ministry with more than 100,000 members, in more than 25 countries with more than 800 local chapters.

Several motorcycle enthusiasts at Providence Baptist went through the process of learning about CMA and earning their "Colors." During this process, they learned what type of jobs they'd perform at motorcycle rallies, and to expect that some motorcyclists may challenge them because they are Christians. But they were told to take advantage of their common love--motorcycles--to build a relationship so the riders would be open to ministering.

The Providence Baptist CMA members participate in motorcycle rides, minister to prisoners, and support CMA sponsored events, which raise funds for specific Christian charities including Open Doors, which provides Bibles to persecuted churches and countries, Missionaries Ventures International, which provides motorcycles to missionaries in over 40 countries, and The Jesus Project, a worldwide effort to get the gospel of Christ to every country in their own language.
